ZmDB offered several searches, which have been largely replaced by the tools available at the sequence page.

Text Search: find by content, search for objects with a specific text string
Class Browser: help you browse through the database class by class
Ace Query: search the database using the Ace query language, examples of Ace query are given on the "Ace Query" page
Blast Search: search for homologs of your sequences in the database
Table Maker: build tables, such as a table of all ESTs and the libraries that they came from
